About the course

This one-hour course will review the roles and responsibilities of a KY Board Approved Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapist Associates, explore ethical considerations and discuss best practices for supervision. This course will review several theories of supervision and how they can be applied to the supervision of current Marriage and Family Therapist Associates to increase confidence and competence for current and prospective KY Board Approved Supervisors. Approved for 1 CE credit hour by the KY Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists

Allison Howell, LMFT

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Kentucky and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapist Associates, Allison has a passion for education, growth and supporting people from all walks of life to feel whole, grounded and aligned. Using EFT (emotion focused therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), narrative and client-centered approaches, Allison has experience working with clients from early childhood to late adulthood in community mental health, in-home, school-based and private practice settings. As a lifelong learner, Allison enjoys providing workshops about mental health and supervision to developing therapists. When thinking systemically, there is always room to grow and expand the system whether then be in a client system or in a self-care practice as a therapist; it is all connected.
